For a site to be authorised to test the Authorised Examiner (AE) must appoint individuals to certain MOT Manager roles .  These roles define the individuals responsibilities to the MOT Service.

You must have these roles appointed and you and the individuals must understand the responsibilities that go with them.

A very interesting email landed  the other day from the DVSA essentially threatening MOT cessation notices. The actual subject line was:

More rigorous application of rules for motorcycle MOT standards’

Why are the DVSA threatening a more rigorous application of the rules?

  • Is this a message for just bike testers or should everyone be paying attention?
  • Does that mean testers have been getting away with missing failure items and not being punished?
  • Has there been a spate of motorcycle accidents due to missed items?

Or is it just a storm in a teacup and someone feels the need to make a bit of noise to keep everyone in order?
