The DVSA experienced a major nationwide system problem on Wednesday morning this week. Many MOT testers arrived at work on Wednesday, 9th November 2022, to discover that MTS-connected equipment was not working effectively. Multiple reports of the problem streamed in from testers all around the country.
Advising testers to work around the issue, the DVSA support teams worked hard to investigate and resolve the issue. The advice was to log a note in the garage diary or similar for future reference with the reason for not doing connected tests on this day. Those with the MOT Juice system could add a note to their equipment records, creating an effective audit trail to reference in future. This process of recording test anomalies protects you against any unwarranted action from a VE in these scenarios.
Whilst equipment connection was a problem on Wednesday morning, MTS still accepted manual test results without issue. Testers were encouraged to manually add test results to the MTS system and continue using all the working functionality in the usual way. The DVSA resolved all equipment connection problems before the end of play on Wednesday.

12 Nov 2022 - 11:22 amI had problems with connected brake rollers over a two day period.
With everything else I have to remember I didn’t note the issue but, do have handwritten test results on advisory sheets for the affected tests.
