Here at MOT Juice, we’re constantly evolving our software to ensure we are always delivering the best products for our members.
We’ve had a very exciting couple of months trying to update our product offering. Here’s what we’ve been up to during August and September 2021.
You can now generate a QR code for each of your pieces of equipment, print them out and stick to your equipment. Scanning the QR code with your smartphone camera will take you straight to your equipment manual, calibration documents and calibration records.
You can check out how it works by watching our video here: https://vimeo.com/619887159
We’ve completely overhauled the MOT Equipment page to make it easier to navigate, quicker to see what equipment is due calibration, and to access the information you need faster. We’ve added a new ‘grid’ style view to make it easier to find different pieces of MOT equipment, as well as new filtering and sorting options to fine-tune the information you are looking at.
We’ve added new file upload controls all around the system. You’ll now be able to upload, view and download calibration certificates; qc documents; exam certificates; training documents and more all in lightning speed with enhanced storage security.
For business owners and site managers, the KPI screen has become part of the day-to-day running of the MOT compliance operation. It’s only fair that we upgraded it to make use of our latest design elements to make the data clearer and easier to navigate.
For all our users, the navigation bar is the very heart of their MOT Juice account and how they move around to find what they need. We’ve updated the navigation menu to make it less confusing, and faster to find your way to essential system areas.
Reviewing TQI every month is a chore for any tester – but it shouldn’t feel like it. That’s why we’ve re-designed the way testers review their TQI each month to make it much more meaningful – you can quickly see what your variations are, why you need to review them, and how to compare the variations with any previous months.
This was a big achievement, and one that has been welcomed by a huge number of our users. We condensed all our monthly email reminders down into just 1 summary email – we dedicated a blog post to this a couple of weeks ago, which you can read more about here.
As usual, we spend any time in-between tasks finding ways to improve the stability of our software, and stamping out any pesky bugs that stop you from experiencing the best of MOT Juice.
Most of our development is born from ideas submitted to us by our members. If you have an idea of how the MOT Juice platform can be improved, please feel free to submit your feedback to us at support@motjuice.co.uk.
Since studying IT and design in high school I have always had a passion for designing and building websites and systems. Working for MOT Juice has allowed me to design a lot of the user interface our users see and interact with on a day-to-day basis. My experience includes over 10 years with Photoshop designing websites and system User Interfaces, 12 years of HTML, PHP and CSS coding, 3 years of learning jQuery and 8 years working within the motor industry. In 2021, I started learning Python, Apache, C# and Ruby to add to my coding skillset.
