As we all know, the annual assessment deadline is fast approaching. The exam must be taken and passed, and the result uploaded to the MTS by 23:59 on 31st March.
Thankfully in this digital age, it is possible to purchase, arrange and begin your exam all in a few minutes. MOT Juice makes it easy to buy and complete your exam online. Within seconds of placing your order, you will get an email with access to your exam link, which you can use immediately.
If you do not pass the exam the first time, MOT juice is the only fully automated provider to issue a link to your resit exam immediately after your failed attempt. So no hanging around if you want to complete your second attempt straight away. Very useful for any assessment procrastinators among us.
You must input the correct DVSA ID, and date of birth (DOB), matching your details on the MTS. Any error matching the record will stop the result from being uploaded. As the Testing Guide explicitly states: “testers MUST check the MTS to ensure their exam has been uploaded successfully”. The onus is on the tester to check the MTS and ensure your result is successfully uploaded. Thankfully, the MOT Juice system regularly checks for mismatched details on the MTS, one of many ways we have your back, thus reducing the potential for system errors.
“If the result isn’t uploaded on the MTS by midnight 31st March, then it’s the same as having not passed the exam at all and the tester will be suspended,” said the DVSA.
Assessment procrastinators might also benefit from knowing that just because the exam result is recorded successfully with the examining body, it doesn’t guarantee that the DVSA has received it. The DVSA systems only intermittently scan for new records every 5-10 minutes. The intervals may become more frequent as the deadline approaches, but you must ensure your result is uploaded well before the deadline to guarantee it is successfully uploaded. If you leave passing your test until 23:56 on 31st March, you may miss the last scan.
We’ve seen our fair share of last-minute exam takers here at Juice, and in previous years we’ve provided personal support to our clients all evening on the day of the deadline. The most last-minute case we’ve seen was someone logging on to take their exam at 23:40 on 31st March. Despite getting their result just before the deadline, sadly, it was a fail. When they emailed in for a resit at 23:55, although the team were available to help, it was clear it was too late. Needless to say, they missed the deadline and got suspended by the DVSA.
Thankfully this year, with our fully automated solution, Dave will get to enjoy his Friday night off on 31st March. And hopefully, with these tips, those of you thinking of leaving your assessment until the last minute will have a more realistic view of how that should look. Still, at this point in the year, with only a month to go until the deadline, it is worth remembering the adages: “the sooner, the better”, “no time like the present”, and “get on with it you lazy procrastinators, there’s no getting out of it!”.
