As we prepare to wave goodbye to the end of the financial and compliance year at the end of the month and head towards the new training year, we are pleased to announce that the DVSA has now released the training topics for the coming year, allowing us to get ahead with our preparation.
As always, we have a dedicated web page where you can discover all the topics and subcategories in detail. We also have a free printable PDF of the syllabus if you wish to display these on your work noticeboard.
Our annual training and assessment provision remains the same, meeting and exceeding DVSA requirements. We offer:
> 3 hours of annual training covering the annual training syllabus
> 3 hours of CPD on any related topics
> Book online and take the exam through either ABC or IMI, including immediate resits if needed
> A free mock exam to help you feel best prepared, which you can take as many times as you need.
The deadline for annual training and assessment is 23:59 on 31st March 2024. The format of the assessment remains largely unchanged from previous years.
> The assessment pass mark will be 80%
> The assessment will be made up of 30 multiple-choice questions across the syllabus topics
> The assessment will be an open-book exam taking a maximum of one hour
The topics covered in this year’s training include:
> Registering a vehicle for a test
> Use of equipment
> Test procedures
> Use of the relevant MOT inspection manual for the class of vehicle
> Example subjects
When broken into subcategories, they number 35 different subcategories for class 1 and 2 vehicles and 43 different subcategories for class 4 and 7 vehicles. It’s tough to see how to cover all of that comprehensively in just three hours of training. That’s what we are here for.
